Coats and Clark family business merger forms: J. & P. Coats, Ltd.

1912

Coats is one of the world’s largest companies by market capitalisation.

1980s

Period of manufacturing decline. Acquired by Vantona Viyella. M&A with Tootal, Barbour and DMC.

2004

GPG acquisition completed and company de-listed.

2009

Paul Forman appointed as Chief Executive as growth-oriented strategy launched.

2015

Coats returns to London Stock Market.

2017
